New data presented at EAN 2021 have highlighted the severe outcomes of COVID-19 in dementia patients and identified risk factors associated with mortality.
Presenting the data, Dr Agathe Vrillon from University Paris Nord, France, noted that there is limited evidence concerning the specific characteristics and outcomes of COVID-19 in patients with dementia, although there have been reports suggesting that dementia is independently associated with higher mortality.
